Continual Professional Development for NSW

Real Estate Academy of Learning is approved by NSW Fair Trading to deliver the compulsory CPD subjects.

All licenced agents are required to complete their CPD each year, the CPD calendar year starts on the 23rd March 2023 to 22nd March 2024.

Commencing from the 23rd March 2023, all licensed agents are required to complete compulsory CPD topics as outlined by NSW Office of Fair Trading.

It is mandatory to complete your CPD requirements each year, failure may result in the cancellation or suspension of your licence.

 

Also, your CPD certificates must be maintained and recorded for 3 years for audit requirements.

All property agents who hold a class 1 or class 2 licence, must complete 4 hours of training on compulsory topics relevant to the class of licence you hold each CPD year.

Compulsory topics must be delivered in:

  • a face-to-face interactive training environment – maximum 40 attendees, or

  • an interactive webinar – maximum 25 attendees, and

  • include an assessment activity.

If you are unable to attend four hours of CPD training in an interactive environment, you must complete10 hours of a blend of Compulsory and Elective topics for your CPD training. These modules will include all compulsory topics relevant to your licence category plus your choice of other training.

Residential Real Estate Salespeople

  • Review of relevant changes to Regulations & Legislation

  • Importance of Supervision Guidelines

  • Privacy, Proof of ID, Cyber-security, fraud prevention, and data collection

  • Price disclosures, representations & underquoting

  • Contracts for Sale – Terms, Conditions, and responsibilities of agents

Residential Property Managers

  • Review of relevant changes to Regulations & Legislation

  • Importance of Supervision Guidelines

  • Privacy, Proof of ID, Cyber-security, fraud prevention, and data collection

  • Managing unforeseen rental terminations – incarcerated, abandoned, deceased

  • Rental bonds – management, communication, and accountability

Stock & Station Agents

  • Review of relevant changes to Regulations & Legislation

  • Importance of Supervision Guidelines

  • Mandatory implementation plans Electronic Identification (EID) Sheep & Goats NSW

  • Biosecurity, Emergency Animal Disease and Livestock Standstills

  • Animal Welfare Best Practice Saleyards and Supply Chain.

Commercial

  • Review of relevant changes to Regulations & Legislation

  • Importance of Supervision Guidelines

  • Privacy, Proof of ID, Cyber-security, fraud prevention, and data collection

  • Contracts for Sale – Terms, Conditions, and responsibilities of agents

  • Price disclosures, representations & underquoting

Strata Managing Agents

  • Review of relevant changes to Regulations & Legislation-Strata Schemes Management Act,2015, Strata Schemes Development Act 2015, Community Land Development Act 2021

  • Strata Building Bond and Inspections Scheme

  • Design and Building Practitioners Act

  • Importance of Supervision guidelines including how the Property and Stock Agents Act and Regulations relate to Strata Sector

  • Electric Vehicle (EV) Infrastructure in Strata
